Bed Stuy Boyfriend Arrested After Housemate Found Slain: NYPD, Reports

BED-STUY, NY — The boyfriend of a young Bed-Stuy woman found dead in a pool of blood has been charged with murder, according to reports and a police announcement Thursday.

Michael Hosein, 32, stands accused of murdering Kelly Kwak, 28, in the home they shared on Gates and Classon avenues, according to the New York Police Department.

Kwak was found during a police wellness check Friday morning about 9:40 a.m., the NYPD said.

The young woman had bruises on her body and face and was lying in a pool of blood on her living room floor, the New York Daily News reported.

Kwak's housemate —whom the Daily News reported to be her boyfriend — was initially taken to the hospital for treatment and evaluation, police said.

Hosein had told police he had taken a lot of pills, the News reports.

The News also spoke with Kwak's mother, who said hadn't heard from her daughter in the five days before her lifeless body was found.

"It's very terrible," Kwak's mother reportedly said. "I'm trying to be normal. But time to time I think of her."
