Bed-Stuy Pizzeria Grabs Delicious Prize; BK Earns Slice Of Awards
TimeOut named Saraghina the 28th best pizza restaurant in New York City. The guide's top four awards all went to Brooklyn pizzerias.

BEDFORD-STUYVESANT, BROOKLYN — A Bed-Stuy pizzeria has been named the 28th best pizza restaurant in New York City, one of 12 Brooklyn eateries to make the cut.
TimeOut, an online guide to art, entertainment and food in cities worldwide, recently published a list of The 29 Best Pizza Places In NYC. Among its picks was Bed-Stuy's own Saraghina, located at 350 Lewis Ave., near the corner of Halsey Street.
"Named after a character in the film 8 1/2, Saraghina churns out pizza that exceeds 8 1/2 on any scale," TimeOut's editors wrote. "We're partial to the Coppa & Carciofi, which mingles mozzarella, hot coppa, roasted spicy artichokes and basil."

"Imagine a town so certain of its pizza superiority that its denizens seem to go to pieces when officials dare to dine with knives and forks, its highest electeds take to social media to battle the matter and some ascribe mystical powers to the local tap water that helps form the dough," TimeOut wrote. "That’s Pizza Town, baby, less commonly known as New York City."
