The Brooklyn Bridge was re-opened to traffic around 8:30 a.m. on Monday morning, after more than three hours of closures.

Police say a horrific 5 a.m. crash involving three cars sent six commuters to the emergency room and shut down all Brooklyn-bound lanes.

“All eastbound lanes have been reopened, but there are probably going to be some residual delays,” says an NYPD spokesperson.

A police investigation into the crash has revealed that a disabled Honda in the right-hand, Brooklyn-bound lane was hit by a Lexus (also traveling toward Brooklyn), which was then hit by a taxi cab.

There were two men in the Lexus, police say. The passenger was ejected from the car and is now in critical condition at Methodist Hospital in Park Slope.

The Lexus driver, on the other hand, was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated.

The four passengers in the Honda and the driver of the cab (who didn’t have any passengers at the time) were also rushed to the hospital. They’re in stable condition, police say.

Also on Monday morning, a car fire in the Lincoln Tunnel from Manhattan to New Jersey shut down all lanes in both directions.
