BED-STUY, NY — The wrecking ball is headed for a Bedford-Stuyvesant corner, where a former home is scheduled for demolition, city records show.

Filings show that the site at 1445 Fulton Street in Bedford-Stuyvesant — currently home to a two-story building near the intersection of Fulton Street and Tompkins Avenue — will be demolished and replaced with a 12-story, 80-unit residential building.

The proposed 119-foot-tall development will span 143,394 square feet, including 86,161 square feet of residential space, 51,356 square feet for community facilities and 5,877 square feet of commercial space.

The owner submitted the permit through their representative, Kao Hwa Lee of Gerald Caliendo Architects.

Plans for a full demolition were submitted and approved in February, though few details were initially disclosed about what would replace the site. However, new permits filed this month reveal plans for apartments, community space and a ground-floor retail component.
