Oceans & Rivers: Acupuncture and Holistic Wellness is hosting its third annual “Relax Relate Release” day retreat for women at For My Sweet Art Gallery in Bed-Stuy on Aug. 11 from 2 p.m. - 9 p.m.  

The conference will feature women’s workshops, vendors of women-centered products and services, Ethiopian cuisine by Bunna Café, afro-Brazilian music and networking opportunities. 

Among this year’s workshop presenters are hip hop icon Toni Blackman; Karen Tappin, CEO of the natural hair and beauty brand Karen’s Body Beautiful; Afro State of Mind author Lurie Daniel Favors; and Chicava Honeychild, creative producer of Brown Girls Burlesque.

“It’s rare for women to have opportunities like this to come together to share and learn about the things that are most important to our success,” said Oceans & Rivers founder Lindsay Fauntleroy. “We can support each other in being emotionally grounded, creatively brilliant, spiritually aware and unapologetically sexy all at the same time, and Relax Relate Release reflects that.”
