Choose Which Bed-Stuy Projects Will Get City Funding
The city's participatory budgeting process allows residents to vote on their favorite neighborhood improvement projects.

BED-STUY, BROOKLYN — Participatory budgeting is a fancy term for something relatively simple: If your New York City Council district participates in the process, you get to vote on which neighborhood improvement projects you deem worthy of your taxpayer dollars.

Projects eligible for funding vary depend on the district you live in; all district-specific projects are arranged geographically on this website.

While voting week runs from March 26 through April 3, polling dates, times and locations depend on your district.

You do not have to be a registered voter to participate. Anyone age 14 and up can vote. You should bring an ID, a utility bill or some other form of documentation that states your address with you to the polls.
One additional note: All residents can vote for their favorite projects at Borough Hall, located at 209 Joralemon Street, from March 28 - April 1. Polls will be open from 10 a.m. - 5:00 p.m on those days.
DISTRICT 36: ROBERT CORNEGY (includes parts of Bed-Stuy and Crown Heights)
If you live in Bed-Stuy, you may be represented in the City Council by Robert Cornegy, who heads District 36. You should contact Mr. Cornegy's office with additional questions.
Voters can choose as many projects as they want, as long as they collectively add up to $1 million in spending.
