Let Music and Laughter Fill the Garden!
Jane Bailey Memorial Garden was the place to be Tuesday night
On Tuesday, July 19, at around 7:00pm, midway down the block of Greene Avenue between Franklin and Classon Avenues, the sweet sounds of a saxophone wafted through the air, behind the soft murmur of laughter and chatter.
Jane Bailey Memorial Community Garden had opened its gates for the community to take part in its "Music in the Garden" event, an evening of relaxation, music and Cuban mojitos served with fresh mint plucked straight from the garden.
Oh, you didn't know that Brooklyn had so many faces? Well, for two hours, a handful of Bed-Stuy residents got acquainted with the charming side of Brooklyn-- the side where the feel of soft grass between your toes is a standard and the smell of fresh garden herbs overwhelms you.

This is also is the side of Brooklyn where the sound of comforting jazz by Dr. Mambo & The Experience Ensemble is interrupted only by the sweet kiss of a soft breeze and an occassional lightening bug that wants to be seen.
