A multi-site development along Park Avenue would bring the neighborhood six new residential buildings and schools.

BED-STUY, NY — A multi-site development could bring Bed-Stuy six new residential buildings and three schools to Bed-Stuy — but it would require rezoning, according to city records and a report.
A group of owners recently submitted a proposal to rezone five blocks on Park Avenue between Warsoff Place and Sandford Street and Bedford Avenue to allow for new schools and housing.
The project, first reported by TheRealDeal, would bring 560 new residential units to the neighborhood, according to the city's Planning department.

City Council Member Lincoln Restler will largely control whether the proposed rezoning of manufacturing plots to residential moves forward, TheRealDeal reported.
“We are broadly supportive of expanded residential and community facility space in this area to meet the needs of our rapidly growing community,” a representative of City Council member Lincoln Restler told TheRealDeal, though the representative was not specifically discussing the Park Avenue project.
