Police Blotter: A Robbery and a Stabbing

A weekly roundup of crime activity in the 81st Precinct

Crime activity is down 10 percent in the 81st precinct (19 incidents vs. 21) for the week of April 18 - April 24, compared to this same time last year. However, the precinct is reporting a 10 percent increase in crime for the month (103 incidents vs. 94 incidents), compared to this same 28-day period last year.

For the week of April 21 - April 30, the 81st precinct is happy to report it has only had two crime incidents on record over ten days:

A Stabbing

On Thursday, April 21, at approximately 8:45 pm, a black male, 21 was stabbed on the corner of Monroe Street and Marcus Garvey Boulevard was stabbed in the chest by an unknown assailant. No further details could be gathered regarding the circumstances of the stabbing, as he was intoxicated and could recall what happened to him. The victim was taken to Kings County hospital.  Detectives are looking into the case.

A Robbery

On Wednesday, April 28, at approximately 3:00 pm, there was a commercial robbery at the Metro PCS Store on Fulton Street. Two men in black hoodies walked into the establishment. One guy brandished a gun, and pointed it at the clerk while the other reached over the counter and grabbed an unknown amount of cash. Both of the perpetrators fled the store. No one was harmed. The investigation is ongoing.
