Police Blotter: Three Cell Phone Robberies, One Felony Assault
A weekly roundup of crime activity in the 79th Precinct

The 79th precinct experienced a 17 percent decrease in overall crime last week (33 incidents vs 40 incidents). For the month, there has been a 14 percent decrease in crime (152 vs 177)
Robberies
On Tuesday, June 14, a 22-year-old male was walking on Flushing Avenue near Marcy Avenue at approximately 1:30 am, when someone as a black male, 25 to 30 years old, approx 6 feet tall and 170 pounds robbed the victim of his cellphone.

On Monday, June 13, at approximately 3:45 am, 51-year-old man reported he was robbed. According to the victim, he was walking on Ellery Street off of Throop Avenue when two black males, approximately 20-25 years old, punched him, threw him to the ground and forcibly removed his cellphone.
On Monday, June 13, at approximately 4:30 am, a 23-year-old man was robbed at gunpoint. Two male blacks, approximately 18-25 years old, displayed a silver handgun to the victim as he walked along Throop Avenue near Hopkins Street. The male perpetrators stole his cell phone.

Felony Assault
On Sunday, June 19, at 3:20 pm, there was a stabbing inside of 95 Herkimer Avenue. This incident was domestic in nature and resulted in one arrest and a knife recovered from the location.
