Police Speaking To 'Person Of Interest' In Bed-Stuy Home Invasion Death
Authorities are interviewing a man in connection with the death of a 91-year-old man, who was tied up along with his 100-year-old wife.

BED-STUY, BROOKLYN — The NYPD is speaking to a "person of interest" in connection with the death of a 91-year-old man who was tied up by robbers next to his 100-year-old wife in their Bed-Stuy home, a department spokeswoman told Patch.
No one has been arrested, and police did not give a name for the person, but it's the latest development in a horrifying case that has gripped the neighborhood since the grizzly crime happened on Oct. 11.
Waldiman Thompson and his 100-year-old wife were tied up inside the couple's home on Decatur Street, near Marcus Garvey Boulevard, by four men who broke in at about 3:30 p.m. that day, police said.

Thompson’s wife escaped from her ties, called 911 and told officials her husband was still trapped inside the house, according to police.
Police officers rushed to the house, where they found Thompson lying unconscious on the floor, said Deputy Chief Michael Kemper.

His wife was treated by emergency responders for rope burn marks on her legs, then taken to an area hospital, police said.
On Tuesday, authorities released photos of a suspect in the case. He was caught on security footage shortly after the crime.
News that a suspect had been detained broke as Thompson's family members gathered at the Hanson Place Seventh Day Adventist Church in Fort Greene to honor his memory.
"We feel cheated," said Alison Watkins, Thompson's eldest granddaughter, in response to the arrest. "I feel some sense of relief but it's not going to bring him back."
