Wine is very grown and sexy.

Of all of the choices of alcoholic beverages, it’s also the most versatile.

You will find wine shared at virtually every type of celebratory function or paired with a variety of tasty foods (including chocolate).

Red, white, rosé and sparkling, wine also comes in a variety of forms, blends and brands, and it can be equally as broad in its price range.

So how do you choose which wine for which occasion, and where do you go in Bed-Stuy to buy?

For me personally, MK Wines and Liquors on Bedford Avenue does the job perfectly fine. They’ve been in the neighborhood forever; the staff knows its inventory and its attributes as much as the next sommelier; their selection is sufficiently wide without becoming overwhelming; and most important, their prices are right!

In the last year alone, Bed-Stuy has given birth to 3 new wine shops -- a fantastic augur of Bed-Stuy's growing wine palate.
