Teens Shine at Herbert Von King Park
A pilot program by City Parks Foundation provides an artistic outlet for New York City teens
On Sunday, June 19, City Parks Foundation’s SummerStage sponsored its first at Herbert Von King Park in Bed-Stuy.
The pilot program gave teens throughout the five boroughs a chance to showcase their creative talents through song, dance and poetry. Teen Family Day is a part of SummerStage Kids presented by Disney.
With the support of CPF, the teens helped select the artists, along with curated and hosted Sunday's show. The young performers and organizers of Teen Family Day showed that not only do they have abundant talent, but they have a voice, with plenty to say.
