Weekend Traffic Advisory: Street Closures for March 17-18

The New York City Police Department today announced street closures and anticipated traffic delays for the weekend of March 17-18, 2012. 

Drivers should expect delays in the following areas:

Saturday, March 17

Manhattan

ST. PATRICK’S DAY PARADE, 11:00am - 5:30pm

Formation: Vanderbilt Avenue between 43^rd and 46^th Streets

44^th & 45^th Streets between Vanderbilt and 6^th Avenues

46^th, 47^th & 48^th Streets between Park and 6^th Avenues

5^th Avenue between 42^nd and 44^th Streets

Route: 5^th Avenue from 44^th to 79^th Streets

Dispersal: 5^thAvenue between 86^th and 79^th Streets

80^th thru 85^th Streets between Madison and 5^th Avenues

The following streets will be closed for this event:

63^rd & 64^th Streets between Madison and 5^th Avenues

Sunday, March 18

BROOKLYN BATTERY TUNNEL

Due to the NYC Half Marathon route, all Manhattan bound traffic exiting the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel will be detoured on to n/b West Street between 0730 & 1230. This is due to the marathon runners using s/b West Street into and through the Battery Park Underpass

NYC HALF MARATHON, 7:00am - 12:00pm

7^th Avenue between 59^th and 42^nd Streets

42^nd Street between 7^th Avenue and West Side Highway

West Side Highway (southbound) between 42^nd Street and Battery Park Underpass

Old Slip (north side) between South and Water Streets

Water Street between Old Slip and Fulton Street
