Young Bed Stuy Man Stabbed To Death, Teen Charged With Murder: NYPD

Three people were stabbed at a family gathering over the weekend in a Brooklyn event space, according to police and reports.

BED STUY, NY — A Bed Stuy man was fatally stabbed in the neck and a teen charged with murder after a family gathering in East Williamsburg became violent, according to police and reports.

Diego Ramirez, 24, died Saturday after he was stabbed in the neck near Knickerbocker Avenue and Thames Street about 3:10 a.m., according to NYPD.

Two other people were stabbed in the upper body and recovering in hospitals, according to police.

A 17-year-old was charged with murder, two counts of attempted murder and criminal possession of a weapon, said police.

Joan Chicaiza, 19, was charged with reckless endangerment, menacing and criminal possession of a weapon, according to the NYPD.

The stabbing occurred at a family celebration held at an event space, according to the New York Daily News.

The 17-year-old and Chicaiza crashed the family gathering and started acting up, ultimately starting a knife fight and speeding off in a car, according to the Daily News.
