It's 5 things you need to know Tuesday.

1. Fire Prevention Week

The annual event features local firefighters volunteering in area schools and libraries and their own departments to educate local kids on fire safety. Here are a couple of events we know of: The Bedford Hills Fire Department will be visiting schools and will also be at the Bedford Hills Library on Wed. October 12 at 4:30 p.m. They're hosting an open house on Sun. Oct. 16 from 1:00 p.m. to 3 p.m. including truck rides, live fire demonstration and fire prevention lessons.

The Katonah Fire Department is also hosting an open house from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. with hands-on activities for kids. Visit their website for more information.
