Bedford Police: Speeding Driver Was Unlicensed

The defendant was released pending an April 4 court appearance.

A 55-year-old Ridgefield, CT man is facing a misdemeanor charge of aggravated unlicensed operation following a recent traffic stop in Bedford, officials say.

Bedford Police Department stopped the man, who was operating a 2008 Audi, at about 12:40 a.m. Sunday. The driver was reportedly traveling eastbound on Cross River Road in Katonah, and speeding at about 55 mph in a 40-mph zone.

Officers found the motorist's privilege to drive in New York State had been suspended in 2007, according to police. He was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, a misdemeanor, and speeding, an infraction.
