Cops: Bedford Hills Man Drove Drunk, Crashed

His blood-alcohol level was reportedly 0.16 percent.

A 35-year-old Bedford Hills man is facing a misdemeanor charge of driving while intoxicated after the vehicle he was operating hit a stone wall, officials say.

Members of the Bedford Police Department arrested Wesley Jay Foster at about 12:35 a.m. Saturday. He was behind the wheel of a 2003 Jeep Liberty on Bedford Center Road in Bedford Hills, near Springhurst Road, when the vehicle smashed into a stone wall, according to authorities.

Foster's blood-alcohol level was allegedly 0.16 percent. The legal limit is 0.08. He sustained facial lacerations, as did his passenger, a 24-year-old man who was transported by ambulance to Northern Westchester Hospital in Mount Kisco.

Police released Foster pending a Feb. 28 appearance in Bedford Justice Court.
