Hills are Alive, Taste of the Towns, Volunteer Opportunities
It's 5 things you need to know Thursday.

1. Taste of the Towns
Stop by tonight's "Taste of the Towns" event to sample the goods from area restaurants, bakeries, boutiques, and many other businesses from around Westchester—and help raise money for and awareness for Support Connection at the same time. The Yorktown-based non-for-profit organization provides free, confidential support services and programs to people affected by breast and ovarian cancer. For more on the event,
2. Volunteers needed

The Katonah Village Library Annual Book Sale is coming up, and they need many hands to help set up. On Sunday, 10/16, at 1 pm, we will be setting up and moving books out of the closets to get ready for the sale. They say in the past, its been a very festive event with many community members at the library working together. Call or email Vicki Marwell, 232-3497, vicki.marwell@gmail.com or Nathalie Dwyer, 767-3274, natdwyr4@aol.com to sign up.

3. The Hills are Alive in Bedford Hills
Bedford Hills will be "alive" with the sounds of the Gerard Carelli Orchestra (www.1800GCsings.com). Tickets are $70 at the door and all proceeds go toward the non-profit neighborhood association to plan future events. Music, hors d'ouvres, beer, and wine will be served up along with the views from Glen Arbor Golf Club in Bedford.
4. Ghost walk in Lewisboro
Making plans for Friday night? Bring your flashlights to the South Salem Library and town historian Maureen Koehl will lead a walking tour of local sites with a haunted history. The one-hour tour will proceed through the Old White Churchyard, past various buildings in the village and along Spring Street toward the South Salem cemetery.
5. Pack the umbrella and raincoat
National Weather Service forecasts rain for the next two days. Today is a 40 percent chance of rain or drizzle, mainly before 1 p.m. and tomorrow showers and thunderstorms are also possible after noon. Not too cold thought—temps should be in the low 70s.
