Joni Evans, Publishing Powerhouse and Pound Ridge Resident, Featured in Westchester Mag

The former president of Simon & Schuster and founder of wowOwow.com was profiled in the magazine's September issue.

Open the pages of this month's Westchester Magazine, and you'll find the face of Pound Ridge resident Joni Evans, profiled for her work in creating an online community for 40-something women, called wowOwow.

In the story, Evans tells writer Elzy Kolb about her enjoyment in creating a platform where "people can tell their stories and share their opinions," noting her belief that "books and words change the world more than sit-coms do."

The profile covers her accomplished career, from her entry-level jobs at McCall's Magazine to serving as president and publisher of Simon & Schuster, and publisher at Random House, to her path at the literary agency William Morrow & Co., where she started as manuscript girl and rose to become senior vice president.
