The Katonah Lewisboro school board is expected to adopt a $113 million spending plan tonight. Budget talks since Superintendent Paul Kreutzer's initial presentation have focused on and the school community will have a last chance to voice their opinions on the budget's specifics tonight. After hearing from parents of children in classes that reach the district's class size maximums, the Superintendent was asked by the board to look for ways to add two elementary teachers back into the budget. However, after hearing his proposals at the board's Mar. 8 meeting, the majority of board members made comments indicating they weren't likely to vote for changes to the original budget. 4. Toney Toni moves down the street
After 19 years at 189 Katonah Avenue, has moved down the street. Owner Judy Meltzer says to expect the same great clothing lines—Rebecca Taylor, Nicole Miller and Isda, to name a few—in a more convenient location. The new location has been empty since the closing of Stop in to say hi to Judy and check out the new space. Look for a Rebecca Taylor trunk show to be held there next week!
5. How has the economic downturn affected homeowners?
Legislator Peter Harckham (D-Katonah), the Majority Leader of the Westchester County Board of Legislators (BOL) and former president of A-HOME, a not-for-profit housing corporation that builds affordable housing in northern Westchester, will be moderating a special public hearing on how the economic downturn has impacted homeowners Thursday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Holiday Inn Manor Hotel in Mount Kisco.
