Katonah Robbery Investigation Continues

Bedford police are actively investigating the armed robbery

"We have a some leads but cannot release any further information because it could jeopardize the case," said Bedford police Lieutenant Jeffrey Dickan. 

Police responded to a call at 8:26 p.m. from a 42-year-old woman who was in the residence at 51 East Lake Drive in Katonah when she was confronted by two men, one of whom was armed with a handgun. After an unspecified amount of time, the woman freed herself to call police.

The value of property stolen is not yet determined, but Dickan called it "significant."

Police do not have a description of the robbers or their car.

"What we are asking, is for anyone who lives nearby or in the area to report any vehicles they may have seen, any unfamiliar people acting suspiciously in local stores or gas stations, between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. that night," said Dickan.

Dickan said he'd like to remind residents to exercise caution at home, by locking their cars, their house—even when they are home—and using exterior lights all of the time or on sensors. He repeated the police department's often-used saying, "if you see something, say something."
