1. K-L schools host kindergarten orientations
, , and will each host a Kindergarten Orientation Tuesday evening at 7 p.m. for the parents of incoming kindergarten children. The orientations will provide an overview of the kindergarten programs and registration packets that they will be asked to complete and return by April. The is hosting a lecture called "Innuendo and Titillation: Dirty Jokes, Bawdy Behavior, and More," beginning at 7 p.m. It's part of their Gift of Art Lecture Series and is described the museum as follows: For centuries artists have addressed human sexuality in ways that elicits laughter. From the ancient pagan representations of Priapus to the 17th-century Dutch paintings of boisterous drunkards frolicking with prostitutes to the blatantly provocative works of today, one can find large doses of humor in artworks with sexual themes. Art historian Marcy B. Freedman will provide numerous examples and she will speculate about the reasons for the ubiquity of innuendo and titillation in Western art. The Bedford town board will meet tonight and hear a presentation from Harold Girdlestone, town assessor. He'll talk about the tax aportionment process, along with Ed Ritter, comptroller, and Amy Pector, tax receiver. The board will also consider energy upgrades in the town's highway department, and consider appointing Bruce Yablon, chair of the Bedford Democratic Committee, to the . 4. Forum for Democratic candidates for NY 19th District
A coalition of Northern Westchester Democratic Town, Village, and City Committees is sponsoring a forum for Democratic Congressional candidates in the current 19th Congressional District, all of whom are seeking to oppose Rep. Nan Hayworth in this year’s General Election. The forum will be held from 7:00 to 9:00 PM on Tuesday, March 6 at the American Legion Hall in Mt. Kisco, at the intersection of Routes 117 and 133. It will be moderated by Peter Parsons, Supervisor of Lewisboro.
