Library Hosts Teen Book Club, Bedford Schools to Discuss Operations

1. Bedford BOE to discuss operations
The Bedford Central school board will meet today at 7 p.m., at the little theatre. Click here for the agenda, which includes a presentation by business superintendent Mark Betz on the "State of Operations" report covering the business office, transportation services and buildings and grounds.

2. Judaism in 6 easy steps
in Bedford will be holding a course called "Judaism in Six Easy Steps," beginning tonight at 7:30 p.m. Rabbis will be leading sessions that will "remind some of the stories and traditions of their childhood and for others it will serve as an introduction to the basic beliefs and practices of Judaism." for details.

3. In-Between Book Club
Bedford Hills author Lena Roy will lead a monthly book club for teens called "In-between Pages" and it starts tonight. The target age group is 6-8th graders and the current book selection is A Mango Shaped Space, by Wendy Mass.

Coming up soon is a high school age bok group, meeting on Feb. 1, led by Bobbi Bittker. The book selection is: Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet by Jamie Ford, and the library has copies available.
4. Travels in Tibet
Hear first-hand what its like to travel in Tibet at the Resident Amy McCracken will show photos of her 5-week journey into the "nomadic life and monastic life of Eastern Tibet and stories about local people maintaining their lifestyle since the Chinese takeover of 1959." The event is Thursday morning at 10 a.m.
5. Katonah Chamber position available
A part-time position is available with the , with the departure of Midge Iorio announced this week. Iorio will be working with the folks over at Bedford 2020 and now the Chamber looks to fill her 10-hour a week position as general manager. If you're interested, click here for a job description.
