Local Boy Raising Money For Eagle Scout Project Via GoFundMe
Kye Viall's eagle scout project involves building a lending library and nature signs for Lewisboro Town Park, and he's asking for donations.

LEWISBORO, NY — A local boy scout is sprucing up Lewisboro Town Park for his eagle scout project, and he's hoping area residents who frequent the park will help fund his efforts.
Kye Viall, a member of Lewisboro Troop 1, has built and installed a lending library across from the pavilion at Lewisboro Town Park, and he said on his GoFundMe page that he has also designed nature signs that will be installed at the park in early December.
"This project has been quite costly and I have created this gofundme in order to help offset the costs," Viall wrote on the page. "If you are someone who frequently visits the park, or just someone who is a fan of our town's eagle projects, I encourage you to donate."

Viall's lending library is made from cedar wood and has books for all ages, and he said the signs were created by Fossil Graphics, which has made plaques for the national parks.
One sign will create a scavenger hunt for children by pointing out natural wonders like leaves and animal tracks, and the other will provide an overview of the park's woodland environment, Viall said. The signs will be situated at each end of the park's nature trail.

Successful completion of the project could result in Viall becoming an eagle scout, the highest boy scout honor that in 2019 only 8 percent of scouts obtained.
Viall was tasked with creating a project that would give back to Lewisboro and would tie in to the town's new accessible nature trail and future accessible playground, the Lewisboro Parks and Recreation Department wrote on Facebook.
"I hope that both the signs and the library can become a longstanding part of our town park," Viall said. "All donations, big and small will be greatly appreciated."
His GoFundMe has raised $610 so far, with the goal of raising $3,000 for the project.
