Onlooker Charged with Drug Possession

A North Salem teen who approached Bedford police while they were investigating a matter on Holly Branch Road in Katonah ended up being arrested himself.
The 18-year-old approached police officers at approximately 2:30 a.m. on Feb. 4. From his car, the youth asked what police were doing in the area. The officers said they noticed he had enlarged pupils and had trouble maintaining focus on their conversation.
After detecting a strong smell of marijuana coming from the vehicle, the officers asked him to step outside of his car. The youth failed field sobriety tests and then refused to take a pre-screen test. When police asked him if he possessed anything illegal, he responded by yelling that police could search his car. The police search turned up a small amount of marijuana.

The teen was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, driving while intoxicated/ability impaired by drugs and refusing a pre-screen test. He was released without bail pending a return to town court.

Dominie Garcia, 23, was observed by Bedford police driving 51 miles per hour in a 30 mph zone on Route 117 in Bedford Hills. A computer check showed 7 previous suspensions.

Garcie was arrested on Feb. 3 and charged with second degree aggravated unlicensed operation and speeding. He was released on $100 bail pendiing a return to town court.
