Pair Arrested After Marijuana Sale in Katonah

A 17-year-old Katonah resident faces unlawful possession of marijuana charges after buying marijuana near the Mobil Station in Katonah last week.

Bedford police say they observed a hand-to-hand transaction on Bedford Road at about 5:30 p.m. on Feb. 22. After they approached the two males, Dylan Thomas Doherty, 22, or South Salem, and a Katonah youth, police searched Doherty's car and located a small quantity of marijuana.

Doherty was arrested and charged with fifth-degree criminal sale of marijuana and was released on $250 bail pending a return to town court. The youth was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, released without bail and is due in town court on March 1.

Youth Accused of Stealing Milk and Eggs Arrested for Drug Possession

A Goldens Bridge youth was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana after being stopped by police who were searching for a milk thief.

On Feb. 21 Bedford police received a report of someone removing milk and eggs from a Valley Road home. The suspect was an individual in a red sports car. After locating a car that matched the description, officers stopped the car and questioned the driver and two passengers, all under age 19.

Officers detected an odor of marijuana in the car and one of the passengers admitted it was his. The youth was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of marijuana.

During their investigation, the officers recovered the stolen goods and subsequently returned them to the Valley Road homeowner, who declined to press charges against the youths.
