Passenger in Alleged Speeder's Car Arrested for Drugs

Patricia Tompkins, 28, of Shenorock, was arrested on Dec. 5 after she became involved in a traffic stop in which the car she was a passenger in was pulled over for speeding.
Police said they pulled the vehicle over to interview the driver, who allegedly was clocked at driving 48 miles per hour in a 30 mph zone. Police observed Tompkins who appeared to be intoxicated. When they attempted to talk to her she jumped out of the car and began shouting, "search me." While the officer tried to calm her down, she took her bag out of the car and dumped its contents on top of a police car, revealing eight Percoset pills wrapped in a white paper towel. All pills were recovered.

Police charged her with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. She was released on $50 bail pending an appearance in town court.
Bedford woman charged with felony DWI
Nicole Hewitt, 42, was arrested on Nov. 30 after she was pulled over in Bedford Hills and allegedly found to be intoxicated while driving with a 13-year-old child in the car.

Police responded to a call from a witness who recorded a partial plate number for an erratic driver on Bedford Center Road. Police found Hewitt driving on Railroad Avenue and while following her to the gas station on Haines Road, they said her car crossed the yellow lines, narrowly missing a traffic island.
Hewitt failed field sobriety tests administered at the scene and was taken to police headquarters, where arrangements were made for her 13-year-old passenger to be picked up.
She was charged with a misdemeanor count of aggravated DWI—one for having a blood alcohol content of .19 and the other for having a child under the age of 15 in her car. She was arraigned and released pending a return to town court.
South Salem man charged with contempt
Christopher Zanine, 55, was arrested Dec. 2 and charged with second-degree criminal contempt/disobedience after he allegedly violated an order of protection against another non-resident.
Police said the non-resident was driving through Bedford when he received unwanted text messages from Zanine which were not allowed under the order of protection. The non-resident reported the incident to the Bedford Police Department. Zanine was arraigned and released on $250 bail pending a return to Bedford town court.
