Photos, Video: Song and Spirit at Lewisboro Tree Lighting
Balmy temperatures prevailed at the warmest Lewisboro tree lighting ceremony in five years.
Led by a spirited group of Daisies, Brownies and Girl Scouts, a crowd of about 150 Lewisboro residents sang classic holiday songs at the town's tree lighting ceremony Monday night.
Town board member Pete DeLucia welcomed locals to the town park, and introduced Assemblyman Robert Castelli, who asked the audience to remember those serving in the armed forces during the holidays. "While we are safe at home, they are putting themselves in harm's way," he reminded those assembled.
DeLucia led the countdown and the tree was ablaze with the colors of the season by 7 p.m. A fire truck delivered Frosty the Snowman and Minnie Mouse, who posed for photos while singers from John Jay's a capella groups entertained.
