Bedford Man Charged With Assault

A Bedford man was arrested after a neighborhood dispute allegedly turned physical and ended with another resident suffering several injuries.

Allan Richard Conklin, 35, was brought to police headquarters July 19 following a police investigation of a complaint filed June 23. The actual incident took place on the afternoon of May 18 and reportedly involved a verbal altercation between Conklin and the victim. Conklin allegedly pushed and hit the victim whom police said fell and had injuries including pain and swelling in his left arm and bruising on his cheek.

Conklin was arrested and charged with third degree assault. He was released without bail for a return to town court.

Mt. Kisco man charged with DWI

Benjamin Goldberg was arrested on July 18 after a traffic stop in Katonah led to a DWI charge.

Goldberg, 21, was seen by Bedford police leaving the Katonah A&P plaza on Bedford Road at 2:49 a.m. on July 18 making an illegaal left hand turn. After observing Goldberg's car cross the line several times, police stopped him. They administered field sobriety tests, which Goldberg failed. A chemical test at police headquarters revealed Goldberg to have a .22 BAC, over three times the legal limit, police said.

He was charged with aggravated DWI and released without bail pending a return town court.

 

Thefts from unlocked cars

 

Police report two recent thefts from unlocked cars in the area.

On July 23, a fishing license, $200 cash and other items were taken from a car parked on Byram Lake Road. The owner reported the thefts took place between 2:30 - 4:30 p.m. on July 19 while he was fishing.

A second theft was reported on the same day, this from a car parked at the CVS pharmacy on Bedford Road. A $500 iPad was reportedly taken from an car at approximately 5 p.m.

Both thefts are being investigated.
