Police: Bike Officer Nabs Youth With Marijuana

An 18-year-old male from Katonah was caught smoking marijuana on the Cross River Dam near Maple Avenue in Katonah, Bedford police said.

The youth was allegedly sitting on the dam over the Cross River Reservoir with a 15-year-old female companion at 4:35 p.m. on July 30. When the bike officer approached the pair, he heard the male youth utter an expletive. Police said they found a glass smoking pipe, a marijuana grinder and four grams of marijuana at the scene.

After questioning, the male said the drugs and paraphernalia were his. He was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana and released without bail pending a return to town court. The female was not charged in the incident and was released to her parents.

Mt. Kisco woman charged with petty larceny

Etleva Berisha was arrested after loss prevention officers at allegedly observed her removing items from the store without paying for them.

On Aug. 2, Berisha, 26, took five bras, a watch and a bracelet—for a total value of over $340—and placed them in her bag at approximately 5:35 p.m. She then attempted to leave the store without paying for the merchandise. Store security personnel called Bedford Police, who charged her with petty larceny. She was released on $100 bail pending a return to town court.

Brooklyn man charged in driving arrest

Mawell Premmana, 21, of Brooklyn, was arrested after the car he was driving was tagged by the Bedford police .

After being notified of the hit, officers on patrol stopped Premmana on South Bedford Road. A computer check showed he was driving with a suspended registration and no driving privileges. He was released without bail pending a return to town court later this month.
