Police Investigating Assault at Oliver's

Bedford police are investigating an assault that reportedly took place at in Katonah last weekend.

Officers responded to a call regarding an incident at the popular Katonah restaurant at approximately 1:30 a.m. Sunday morning. An individual was said to throw a glass at another patron, striking the second person in the face.

The victim was hit above the eye, suffered a severe facial laceration, and was taken to Northern Westchester Hospital for treatment, according to police. Police are working on identifying the suspect, who fled the scene.

Driving arrests

Antonio Albanese of Bedford Hills was arrested after his car was tagged by the license plate reader patrol car.

Albanese, 63, was stopped by police just after 8 a.m. on July 25. He was charged with third degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a car and driving with a suspended registration and expired insurance. He was released without bail pending a return to town court.

On July 26, the LPR car tagged the car driven by Danny Cano, 22, of Bedford. Police stopped Cano on Bedford Center Road near Green Lane at 12:45 p.m. and a computer check revealed he had a suspended registration, no insurance and no registration. He was charged with third degree unlicensed operation of a car and released without bail pending a return to town court.

Woks stolen from Kicho

Employees of Japanese Bistro in Bedford Hills reported a theft to Bedford police on July 25. They said between the hours of 10 p.m. on July 24 and 11:30 a.m. on July 25, two 5-gallon wok pans were stolen from outside the building.

The woks were valued at $400.

Maserati damaged

The owner of a red 2012 Maserati reported damage to his car on July 25 following an explosion of a NYSEG transformer near the car when it was parked at

The owner called police just after noon. Police observed ceramic and metal debris on the car and contacted NYSEG to inspect the damage.
