Police: Man Arrested in Katonah for Having Gun, Knife

An Ossining man who was banging on a Katonah resident's door was arrested on Fisher Lane when police discovered he had a .38 caliber revolver in his car and a concealed automatic switchblade, police said.

Officers responded to a call about a suspicious person described as a white male wearing an eye patch outside of a Fisher Lane residence at approximately 4:30 p.m. on March 25.

When they arrived they found an Timothy Patrick O'Donnell, 53, sitting in a black 1990 Toyota parked on the street. After questioning him, police said O'Donnell couldn't give a legitimate reason for approaching the home on Fisher Lane or being parked on the street.

O'Donnell, who produced a private investigator's badge and happened to be wearing a New York State police tie tack, was asked by police to step out of the car. Police noticed and empty gun holster on the front seat, then found the revolver in the trunk of the car. They gave O'Donnell a pat-down, which revealed the switchblade.

O'Donnell did not have a gun permit. He was arraigned by Judge Jacobsen, charged with two counts of fourth-degree criminal weapons possession and released on $200 bail. The nature of his visit to the area is still being investigated and a temporary order of protection was put into place for the Fisher Lane resident.
