1. Town board work session: Judges

How closely are you following the town board's budget development process? Last week they discussed the school district administration that they discuss funding for the school resource officer, indicating the board was considering asking to share the costs. At tonight's work session they will discuss judges. If you want to sit in, it starts at 7:30 p.m. in town hall.

2. Red Ribbon Week

You may notice some red ribbons on school buses and on your grade schoolers this week—they're to be distributed to students and worn as a symbol of supporting a healthy, drug-free lifestyle. The Katonah Lewisboro Substance Abuse Task Force will be distributing information on how to discuss the concept with kids this week.

3. Protest in White Plains over 'victim blaming' after Cross River tragedy

Groups concerned with domestic violence are staging a rally Monday in White Plains to express outrage at the “victim blaming” since Tuesday's Friedlander triple murder-suicide; and to offer support to victims who have not yet found a way to reach out for help. For more information,

In Katonah, at 12 p.m. a local yoga studio is offering a session on grief and healing.

4. Northeast Westchester Rotary Club meets

The club, which sponsors several service organizations and causes in the community, welcomes new members and meeting attendees. for more information.
