2 Fishermen Dead After Boat Capsizes in Muscoot Reservoir
Police say the aluminum boat capsized Monday evening. The two men were wearing life jackets, but they died in the 38-degree water.

GOLDENS BRIDGE, NY – Two friends out fishing on the Muscoot Reservoir in Goldens Bridge on New Year's Eve died after their aluminum boat capsized. Their bodies were found Tuesday morning by a fisherman shortly before 7 a.m., New York State Police said.
Ngan We Kong, 48, and Weitao Ma, 47, of Brooklyn and Staten Island, respectively, were fishing Monday evening when their 12-foot boat overturned for an unknown reason, police said.
Both men were wearing life preservers, but they died in the 38-degree water.

The men had spoken with family members around 5 p.m. Monday to say they wanted to keep fishing later into the night, State Police Capt. David Atkins said.
It's unclear how long they were in the water before their bodies were discovered.

The preliminary cause of death has been deemed to be related to drowning and hypothermia. The specific cause of death is pending determination by the Westchester Medical Examiner’s Office.
