1.Shoe box gift collection
The is a collection center for Samaritan's Purse Operation Christmas Child and is currently collecting shoe box gifts from Hudson Valley residents that will be shipped all over the world. Last year, the project resulted in over 8 million shoe boxes going to needy children. For instructions on how to pack a shoe box for a needy child, click here. After you're done packing, you can drop boxes off at the church at 160 Bedford Center Road and help a child have a happy Christmas.

ArtsALIVE! presents the 13th Thanksgiving Fundraiser by TheatreworksUSA of NYC LIVE ON STAGE in the JJHS THEATRE at l this Saturday, Nov. 26 at 2 p.m. The mischievous Cat in the Hat is the host and emcee in this romp through the Seuss classics. It includes many favorite characters: Horton the Elephant, JoJo the Who, Gertrude McFuzz, and lazy Mayzie La Bird. It is a 75 minute play is recommended for audiences age 5 and up. 3. Holiday food drive at Bedford Hills Chiropractic

Assisting the Community Center of Northern Westchester this year is Dr. Stuart Weitzman, who, through his office is seeking non-perishable food products for collection at his office over the next two months. These items will then be distributed throughout Northern Westchester to the families in need.
4. Local districts survey communities
In late November, Katonah-Lewisboro Schools will be seeking community perspectives on various areas of district operation through a phone and web-based survey. The survey questions will concentrate on areas such as instruction, finance, and staffing, and are intended to provide insight as to current satisfaction levels and help the District identify both strengths and challenges. The Bedford Central district is also surveying community members—that survey is active and online and available through the news page of the district website.
