
1. Bedford resident named to Choate Dean's list
Samantha Kelly, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward F. Kelly of Bedford, was named to the fall term 2011 Deans' List at Choate Rosemary Hall in Wallingford, CT. In addition, these local students were recently named to the fall honor roll at the Loomis Chaffee School in Windsor, CT: Patrick Kennedy-Nolle, a senior from Bedford; Lucian Goodman, a sophomore from Katonah; Quinn Schoen, a sophomore from Katonah and Isaac Simons, a sophomore from Katonah.

2. Meet Martha Stewart's chef
It’s not only the iconic star from which The Martha Stewart Show takes its name that has chosen Katonah as her home. Nikki Elkins, kitchen manager and television chef, for the program is a recent Katonah settler as well. 3. The origins of Santa Claus and having happy/harried holidays
New blog posts today include the story of how the Santa Claus we know today came to be, by Stephen Edelstein, and an update from Madeline Polemeni on how she's doing with her goal of being in the moments this holiday season. She had me laughing here: The reality of Christmas being six days away, though, has not found me sipping a cup of tea in quiet repose. 4. Shop local...on Etsy
Many of you probably know what Etsy is all about already, but for those of you who don't, Etsy showcases handmade items from all over the world, giving handcrafters a market for their wares. And some of these gorgeous products are made by artists right here in Bedford and Katonah. We'll post a link to the Etsy shops hosted by locals later this morning.
