Troopers Report Burglary Arrest at John Jay High School
Richard D. Hoenninger is due in Lewisboro Justice Court this evening.
A 59-year-old New Fairfield, CT man who once worked as a custodian at John Jay High School was arrested early Saturday after he gained access to a building on the campus using keys obtained on the job, officials say.
Richard D. Hoenninger is accused of siphoning gasoline from an official vehicle and entering a building. He allegedly stole "miscellaneous property" while inside.
Officers with the Lewisboro Police Department were observing him at the time, according to authorities. The agency had received a complaint "involving theft of fuel" occurring on weekends.

Hoenninger—who was arrested by Officers Andew Lleywellyn and David Alfano at about 3:20 a.m. Saturday—is facing a felony charge of third-degree burglary, as well as misdemeanor charges of petit larceny and third-degree criminal trespassing.
The defendant was processed without incident at the State Police barracks in Somers and arraigned before Town of Lewisboro Judge Marc Seedorf.

The defendant was released after posting $440 bail. He is due to appear today (March 4) in Lewisboro Justice Court.
