1. Take part in tax committee to improve IRS service
The Internal Revenue Service is looking for civic-minded volunteers from New York State to serve on the Taxpayer Advocacy Panel (TAP), a federal advisory committee that listens to taxpayers, identifies key issues, and makes recommendations for improving IRS service. It's your chance to raise issues and concerns about the IRS. Applications for the TAP will be accepted through April 27, 2012. Applications are available online at www.improveirs.org. 4. Book Swap at JFC
The welcome all families to join them for their second annual children’s “Book Swap” Tuesday, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. Children from nursery to elementary school age and their families will enjoy bedtime stories and milk and cookies. Each child can bring a maximum of 15 board books, picture books, early educational books and chapter books to swap with other families and participants.
5. Water plant info session
Tonight's town board meeting is preceded by an information session on the new Bedford's consolidated water district. The session starts at 7 p.m. and is followed by the regular town board meeting, at which the Bedford Police Department will be recognized for its "best practices" program and a petition will be heard regarding speed on McClain Street.
