Westchester H-MRF Marks 1 Year with Extended Hours Thursday

The Valhalla-based Household Materials Recovery Facility (H-MRF) will be open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday.

In just one year, more than 300,000 tons of household materials like tires, batteries and propane tanks have been disposed of at the Westchester County Household Materials Recovery Facility (H-MRF), the county announced.

To mark the one-year anniversary of the Grasslands Reservation-based facility, there will be extended hours from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday.

You can bring "hard-to-dispose" products including medications, confidential documents, cleaning solutions, pesticides, thermometers, fire extinguishers, flourescent light bulbs, electronic waste at the facility throughout the year by making an appointment on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2:50 p.m. online or by calling 914-813-5425.
