What Would You Like to See at 131 Katonah Avenue?

The space formerly occupied by Monroe's Vintiques has been vacant for about 8 months.

But Veronica Infelice's idea to open a retail shop offering high-end apparel for men and women along with an in-store café did not receive approval from the state health department.

And, according to the town of Bedford's planning offices, no new proposals are on the table for that prime real estate in the middle of Katonah's shopping thoroughfare.

Many locals still remember the clothing shop Etc. that was there for at least a few years prior to the arrival of Monroe's, which lasted in that space for less than a year, from April 2010 to March 2011.

Whomever occupies the space faces challenges—Infelice was limited to an average daily water allocation of 24 gallons for the 800-square-foot space—but the prime spot in the heart of town would surely be a good home for...what?
