The information below was provided by the Bedford police and does not indicated a conviction.

A Maryland woman was arrested by Bedford police after she crashed her car into a stone wall in Bedford and wandered from the scene.
Police said they responded to a call from a passerby at 1:19 a.m. on March 28 who reported seeing Elva Ibanez-Ortiz, 29, on Route 172 near Sarles Street. Police located Ibanez-Ortiz, a Towson, MD resident, and questioned her.
She said she had a minor accident but did not know what she had hit with her car. Police found her 2009 Volvo a few hundred feet from the scene, with major damage from apparently hitting a stone wall.

Police said they noticed Ibanez-Ortiz had a strong smell of alcohol, bloodshot and watery eyes. She failed field sobriety tests and was taken to police headquarters for processing where she refused to take a breathalyzer test. During their investigation, police found a clear plastic envelope with 7 pills and fragments of other pills—which were later determined to be alprazolam, an anxiety disorder medication.
Ibanez-Ortiz was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, DWI, leaving the scene of an automobile accident and refusing a prescreen test. She was released on $500 bail pending a town court appearance.

Bedford Man Charged With Burglary, Resisting Arrest
Two Bedford men were arrested last week for their involvement in a previous break-in incident at the Bedford Shell Station.
Antoine David Gee, 20, and a 19 year-old youth, both of Bedford, were linked to a burglary that took place on March 24 at 2:16 a.m. that resulted in the suspects breaking into the gas station, rifling through an empty cash register and taking a key to a second register.
After reviewing the video surveillance tape, police determined Gee and the youth to be their prime suspects. Police officers went to their residence.
