NORTH BELLMORE, NY — The vacated Temple Beth-El in North Bellmore is awaiting approval for converting the land into a rental complex.

The development company is looking to build a 28-unit building, according to documents obtained by Patch.

The next step is seeking approval from the Town Board to switch the real estate zone from religious use to residential.

In a letter to the town board, the developer said the multi-family complex would "remain relatively similar in size and footprint, as will the existing access and parking areas."

The synagogue consolidated with the East Meadow Jewish Center in 2020, to create the East Meadow Beth-El Jewish Center.
