Kennedy Wrestlers Topple Garden City For League Championship

Kennedy advances to the Nassau County Dual-Meet Championship on Jan. 19.

BELLMORE, NY — The Bellmore John F. Kennedy High School wrestling team is celebrating its 10th league championship since 1995.

The squad clinched the 3A conference title on Wednesday, defeating Garden City, 44-16.

It was the matchup between Kennedy's Josh Amiel and Garden City's Matt Preston that was deemed the best of the night.

"Josh dominated the match and pinned him in the second period," Coach Brian DeGaetano said.

Up next for Kennedy wrestlers is the Nassau County Dual-Meet Championships beginning on Jan. 19.
