Mepham Seniors Uncover the Past

Students interviewed Mepham alumni from the 1940s through the 1960s as part of their Uncovering the Past history elective.

Mepham High School seniors recently had the opportunity to interview Mepham alumni from the 1940s through the 1960s as part of their Uncovering the Past history elective.

This month, the students listened to stories from the alumni about growing up in the Bellmore-Merrick community and attending Mepham in its earlier years. Seniors videotaped their interview sessions in order to preserve the stories of people who lived through historic times.

The history elective allows students to research the growth and development of Mepham, influential figures, historic moments and famous graduates from the last 75 years through the study of artifacts and newspapers preserved by the Mepham Alumni Association.
