Pride For Youth to Celebrate 20-Year Anniversary
The organization will host a fundraising gala on Friday.

In honor of its 20th anniversary, Pride For Youth (PFY) will host a fundraising gala at The Crescent Beach Club in Bayville on Friday.
"We are thrilled to be celebrating this milestone of serving the LGBTQ community for 20 years," Pete Carney, director of Pride For Youth said.
The organization has been on Bellmore Avenue for 15 years.
"Before that we would rent out places and have programs once a week," Carney said. "Now we serve the community daily."
Pride for Youth is a service and an advocate for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBTQ) youth.
Its mission is to "enhance the health, wellness and cultural competency of LGBTQ young people through supportive services, education and youth development."

Carney said that he is proud of all that Pride For Youth has accomplished.
"We have provided spaces and ongoing support to LQBTQ youth on Long Island and have given them an opportunity to celebrate who they are," he said.
The event will take place on Friday from 6:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.
