Syracuse, Utica, Binghamton nonprofits to use state funds for homeless housing – Central New York Business Journal (cnybj.com subscription) — Binghamton will see a major boost in homeless housing as Greater Opportunities for Broome and Chenango, Inc. uses $8.3 million in state funds to rehab and build two residential buildings in the city. The project will preserve 14 existing units, add seven new supportive units, and create 69 beds in fully electric, three-story facilities on Griswold Street.

From Labs to Local Tables: How Research Is Helping Fight Food Insecurity (newswise.com) — Researchers and students at Binghamton University are teaming up with local groups to tackle food insecurity across Broome County, including in the City of Binghamton. Their Food Justice Working Group helped shape a countywide Food Access Plan, mapping gaps in resources and launching five targeted initiatives to improve access, nutrition education, and support for underserved neighborhoods over the next two years.
