2 Busted For Selling Alcohol To Minors On LI: Police

Two people were arrested after selling alcohol to minors on Friday, Suffolk police say.

ISLIP TERRACE, NY — Two people were arrested for selling alcohol to an underage person on Long Island on Friday after Suffolk County police investigated three businesses in the area.

Police said numerous community complaints sparked an investigation at three businesses in East Islip. During the investigation, officers found two of the businesses not in compliance and charged two people with second-degree unlawful dealing with a child for selling alcohol to someone under the age of 21.

Police said they arrested Richard Sherman, 69, of Holtsville, an employee of Superstar Beverage and Zohaib Farooq, 34, of Central Islip, an employee of Bolla Market.

Sherman and Farooq were both issued field appearance tickets and are slated to appear in First District Court in Central Islip at a later date.
