Fetty Wap Sentenced To 6 Years In Prison For LI Federal Drug Case

CENTRAL ISLIP, NY — Willie Junior Maxwell II, rap artist also known as “Fetty Wap,” was sentenced to six years in prison for his involvement in a federal drug case in Central Islip on Wednesday, the Eastern District of New York confirmed with Patch.

The 31-year-old from New Jersey pleaded guilty to intentionally conspiring to distribute and possess controlled substances in August.

He also received five years’ post-release supervision, before United States District Judge Joanna Seybert.

According to court documents, from about June 2019 through June 2020, the Maxwell and five other men distributed more than 100 kilograms of cocaine, heroin, fentanyl and crack cocaine across Long Island and New Jersey.

The men obtained the narcotics on the West Coast and used the United States Postal Service and drivers with hidden vehicle compartments to transport the controlled substances across the country to Suffolk County, where they were stored, prosecutors said.

The drugs were then distributed to dealers, who sold them on Long Island and in New Jersey. Five of the men also used firearms to protect their drug organization and distribution chain.

However, Maxwell pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute and possess cocaine only, prosecutors said. He also is charged with use of guns in connection with a drug trafficking crime, for which he did not plead.

Anthony Cyntje, a New Jersey corrections officer who was found guilty of transporting $200,000 worth of cocaine in the same drug ring, was sentenced to six years in federal prison in March.

Of the six men, including Maxwell, three Long Island men were also charged with participating in the drug ring.

Elizabeth Macedonio, requested Maxwell be sentenced to five years in prison, while the U.S. Attorney’s Office asked for nine years, the Eastern District of New York said.
