LI Teen Arrested After Stealing Car With Toddler Inside In Brentwood: Police
Police say a 3-year-old child was found after a running vehicle was stolen from a Brentwood driveway Thursday night.
BRENTWOOD, NY — A 17-year-old was arrested after a vehicle was stolen with a 3-year-old child inside in Brentwood late Thursday night, Suffolk County police said.
Third Precinct officers responded to Whipple Street at about 11:30 p.m. on Thursday after a 2014 Honda Civic, which had been left running in a driveway with a child inside, was stolen, according to police.
Following an extensive search, officers located the vehicle and the child on Bretton Road in Hauppauge at approximately 5 a.m., police said. The child was unharmed and was taken to Good Samaritan University Hospital in West Islip for evaluation as a precaution.

Third Squad detectives charged a 17-year-old Central Islip male with third-degree grand larceny in connection with the incident, police said.
